Build-A-Bear - Hug A Cub

So, you know how when your little one gets a little older and you stumble across something and wish you had it when your little one was little? Well, this is the case for me and the Bébe Belay. When I was recently contacted to see about doing a Bébe Belay giveaway on Penny Pinching Parent I was tickled. They also sent a cute little pink argyle one for my daughter to try out and like I said it’s one of those products that I wish we had had from the very beginning and here’s why…

The Bébe Belay is multifunctional baby accessory. It’s a little fashionable grosgrain ribbon with clips which can be used as a paci clip, but unlike standard pacifier clips… the Bébe Belay is unique in that it has clips on both ends and can be used as so much more than a paci clip. It’s designed to be used on little ones from birth all the way up to 3 years. So, as a mom of a 2 year old I have been missing out.

Since we are past the tiny baby stage, we won’t be using it as a paci clip, but we use the clip to make an instant bib when traveling (now I have a used for all those old cloth diapers we used as burp cloths or if I forget you can even use it with a napkin, etc.) and to help keep items together in our tote… I used it to clip some sandals together when we were traveling last week. But, I can tell you what I am most excited about is how I will be using it this cold season… I will be using the Bébe Belay to help me keep my daughter’s jacket and gloves together. I spend so much wasted time trying to keep up jackets and gloves, so I am just going to stick a Bébe Belay in each jacket and when we are done with gloves… clip them right to the jacket, so that way we will always have our jacket and gloves together. Like I said this is a multifunctional accessory and you can use it some really creative ways!

The Bébe Belay Everyday Line is now available in select Target stores. You can follow the link to the item and from there click on the “Find It In Stores” button. You can type in your zip code and find out which Target near you carries the Bébe Belay… all the stores near me showed that they carried it, but some were out of stock, always a good sign that I am not the only one who thinks this is an terrific product.

The Bébe Belay Everyday Line (they also has a Boutique Line available in speciality boutiques) retails for $4.99, so it makes a perfect tie on/add on to a baby gift. I think it would be a super cute add on to a diaper cake. It’s one of those items that definitely grows with your baby and it affordable enough that you can have more than one. Plus, right now they have a promotion going on: if you buy 3 Bébe Belays from the Everyday Line and complete this offer form and send it in, they will send you a FREE Bébe Belay from the Boutique line! This offer is only good until, July 17, 2009.

I would use it as a gift for my pregnant sister. But if I had a baby it would be great for not losing pacifiers! Thanks, justicecw@hotmail.com

I would use the Bebe Belay to attach my baby's "Bear Bear" to his car seat so that I don't have to pull over and reach it when he drops it while I'm driving.

My little one is a binky baby and this would be great in car rides. She would be able to put it back in herself and I won't have to pull over to help her. Great fabric patterns and great idea!

I HAVE LOST A COUNTLESS NUMBER OF BOOTIES, SOCKS AND SHOES BECAUSE MY SON LIKES TO BAREFOOTED. I HATE BEING IN PUBLIC WHEN MY SON DOES THIS AND I DONT NOTICE RIGHT AWAY I FEEL LIKE A BAD PARENT. SO USING THE BEBE BELAYS TO CLIP ON MY SONS BOOTIES ETC.. TO HIS PANTS WOULD ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEIR FASHIONABLE I LOVE THEM, WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!

I am hoping it would be strong enough for me to use as a lovey clip. Both of my daughters are desperately devoted to their little stuffed animal lovey friends, and I have spent way too much time running through the aisles of the grocery store trying to retrieve a dropped lovey. When we travel through airports, right now I tie the lovey onto a string and tie the string to a belt loop. I look ridiculous doing so, but the lovey can't get lost! Clipping the lovey to my girls (or the stroller, or whatever) would look a lot less insane!

I could have used this this weekend when we were at a friends' house and I found I'd forgotten to pack a bib. Oops! I'll probably also use it put gloves together come this winter. I should probably get her little gloves first, huh? :)

I have spent countless hours trying to keep booties together when my little one pulls them off. This would be perfect to help keep them together.

The instant bib is a fabulous idea, & I really like the look of this one. I've actually seen an "instant bib" that is made specifically for that purpose, but the belay is so much cuter – soft ribbon, not plastic & color choices too! I have twin boys who are almost two, and an almost 5 yr. old boy, so I'm thinking the gloves to the coat idea will be very helpful in our house too!

I would use the Bebe Belay to make instant bibs for those many times when I forget to pack a real one. I would use it in my diaper bag to keep from having to dig for a binkie, and then so my daughter doesn't drop hers on the floor.
