So what does the PPP family think?
My husband and I have recently been discussing the possibility of installing an under the sink water filtration system. We have a filter on our fridge, which seems to help, but sometimes I just get the feeling that our water isn’t as good as it could be. I have even thought about having someone come out and test our water.
We are fortunate, we live in an area where we have, as people around here call it, “city water.” East TN still has quite a large population of residents who are on “well water.” My inlaws were able to finally hook up to “city water” about a year or so ago. So, our water is treated, etc. but since we are such big water drinkers in our house and since we have a little one… water quality is a concern for us.
For the past few weeks we have been using the Restore Clean Water System. The Restore looks a lot like your average water filtration pitcher, but it’s a step beyond that, it’s a personal clean water system. You put water in just like an average water pitcher and this helps to eliminate the same sort of things an average pitcher does, but it also helps to reduce bacteria and viruses* with a UV clean technology.
It’s super easy to set up. You soak your filter for a bit, install it, put your water in and then flip a switch to turn on the UV light. In my opinion the water seems to filter through faster than your standard water pitcher and the UV light only takes a minute or so… we were sorta like bugs drawn to a bug zapper the first time we turned on the UV light… it’s really neat to watch (there’s a video below so you can check it out yourself).
At $99, the pitcher is a much more budget friendly option than an under the sink filter. As I mentioned above, we drink a lot of water in our house, it’s our drink of choice, so I was definitely able to tell a difference in the water filtered through the Restore Clean Water System. I am actually so dorky that I had my husband do a “blind taste test” with out filtered fridge water and the Restore water… I picked the water filtered through Restore. I can also tell a difference when I drink a glass of water that’s been sitting out a while… the water still taste fresh and clean even when it’s warmed up and been sitting out on the nightstand for a few hours at night.
We love the new Restore Clean Water System… it’s now part of my morning routine. I make breakfast and filter our water for the day, the Restore’s faster than I am. We like it so much that we have even demonstrated it to all our family who have come over to visit!

*There was a lot of research and testing that went into the Restore… I won’t even attempt to quote all of the data on what types of bacteria or viruses the Restore eliminates here on PPP. You can read all about that on the Restore site (PDF).
