More Free Printable Sight Word (High Frequency Words) Printables
We are chug, chug, chugging along in our 4th week of school. This week the gal will start having to learn spelling words, on top of already being able to read a growing list of sight or high frequency words.
As I mentioned last week, I work to try to bridge that gap between learning and home and so we often do worksheets, flash cards, journaling and more. Right now I am working on making worksheets of the high frequency words my gal is to know this year.
My gal is a strong reader right now and since we did a very rigorous phonics course last year…lots of what she is going over is very repetitive. She gets frustrated with that, no matter how many times I tell her “practice makes perfect.” That’s why I make worksheets, word finds, make readers with the spelling words, etc. It helps me know where she is at learning wise (miss being a homeschooler) and it gives her a little something different and something “mommy made”… it’s win, win for both of us.
Sight Words Practice Sheets- Set 2 Now Available
The sight words or high frequency words that I have been sharing are from the curriculum map for my daughter who is in 1st grade. I know that we worked on a majority of these words during Kindergarten, so depending on your child’s current learning level, I would think these sheets could be used for older Kindergarten and of course 1st graders.
This 2nd set of Sight Word Practice Sheets includes: a, green, I, see, like, one, the & we. As with the first set there is a spot to trace the word, read the word, color the word, write the word, read a cute sentence with the word and a place for your child or student to write their own sentence using the word and they are encouraged to read their sentence aloud. So far these sheets have been a big hit for my gal. She enjoys the extra practice and I think simply the fact that I made them… she’s my biggest fan, I am pretty lucky.
